First Reading (2 Chronicles 36:14-16, 19-23) shows how God remained faithful to his people in spite of their infidelities. God’s promises were not nullified by the sins of his people.
Second Reading (Ephesians 2:4-10) stresses the enormity of the love God has shown us in Christ. It makes it clear that we owe our salvation, not to our own efforts, but to the goodness of God.
Gospel (John 3:14-21) In his love for us, God sent his Son into the world, not to condemn us, but to save us.
`God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not be lost but may have eternal life.’ We hear these marvelous words in today’s Gospel. They are a summary of the Good News.
