“Do not abandon yourselves to despair.
We are the Easter people and hallelujah is our song.”
Pope St John Paul II

“If humanity had its way, the plan of redemption would be an endless and bloody conflict. In reality, salvation was bought not by Jesus’ fist, but by His nail-pierced hands;
not by muscle but by love; not by vengeance but by forgiveness; not by force but by sacrifice. Jesus Christ our Lord surrendered in order that He might win;
He destroyed His enemies by dying for them and conquered death by allowing death to conquer Him.”
A.W. Tozer

The Paschal mystery has two aspects: by his death, Christ liberates us from sin; by his Resurrection, he opens for us the way to a new life…. Christ’s Resurrection, and the risen Christ himself, is the principle and source of our future resurrection: “Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. . . For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.”
The risen Christ lives in the hearts of his faithful while they await that fulfilment. In Christ, Christians “have tasted. . . the powers of the age to come” and their lives are
swept up by Christ into the heart of divine life,
so that they may “live no longer for themselves but for
him who for their sake died and was raised.”
