Dear Parishioners,

What a Lent and Easter it has been!

For all of us, I hope a time of grace – the grace of true conversion, which always entails death and resurrection.

Huddled together in a shuttered upper room, gripped by mortal fear, the disciples of Jesus had lost all faith, all hope, perhaps even all but the barest shreds of love too. And yet, it did not matter to the one who is Love Incarnate: He shattered the gates of hell and death and fear, and “stood among them” breathing his Shalom, peace-bestowing mercy.

May he also shatter our shuttered hearts and minds gripped by fear, “where” (as the Psalmist says) “there was no cause for fear”.

Christ is Risen!
