On Sunday, 28 May, we commemorate the 35th anniversary of the opening and dedication of the St Agatha’s parish church by Cardinal James Freeman, with Fr Dennis Callahan as Parish Priest.

Bishop Peter A Comensoli will preside at the concelebrated Mass in honour of the Ascension of the Lord at 10:30 am, to be followed by a lunch in the Martin Hall.

This is an opportunity to honour the faith, generosity and memory of all who have contributed to the parish of Pennant Hills since 1928, first at St Columba’s, then at St Joachim’s and finally at St Agatha’s. (A brief account of this history is available on this parish website.)

A commemorative card has been prepared to mark this occasion.

We are also taking this opportunity to launch and bless this updated parish website.

I thank and acknowledge the enormous contribution by parishioner Richard Houing, for his many hours in guiding the design and technical setup of the updated website. I also acknowledge the work of Mal Weber, Kerri Donovan and members of the parish team.

Our hope and vision is that this website will provide fuller and more engaging information about parish events and groups, and provide greater insights into our Catholic faith. Parishioners will be invited to contribute and to be involved in the ongoing life of the website.

All we do is for the greater glory of God, and we ask God’s blessing on all our endeavours.

Fr Paul Durkin
Parish Priest
