The Light Is On for You

Special Lent times – 7:00 – 8:00 pm Friday evenings during Lent.    Other times – 8.30-9.30am Saturday (all year).

Lent is the season where we prepare ourselves to renew and restore our relationship with Jesus and the Church as we prepare to celebrate Easter. You are warmly invited to join in prayer at our parishes during Lent. When ready, you may consider participating in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. To help prepare yourself to receive the joy of God’s mercy, explore information here to help you feel more confident and ready, including a Guide to Reconciliation.

For many of us the Sacrament of Reconciliation can be scary and even embarrassing. We may be too nervous or consider ourselves unforgiveable. Yet with confidence Pope Francis reminds us:

“How many times in my pastoral ministry have I heard it said, ‘Father, I have many sins,’ and I have always pleaded, ‘Don’t be afraid; go to him; he is waiting for you; he will take care of everything.’ We hear many offers from the world around us, but let us take up God’s offer instead: his is a caress of love.”
